History

Background

She is a 19-twelvemonth-onetime school instructor and rebel in Nuevo Paraíso, Mexico. She is a very dedicated and zealous revolutionary, and is said to fight as well every bit whatsoever man.[1]

Events of Cherry-red Expressionless Redemption

John get-go meets Luisa when he and Landon Ricketts rescue her from a regime jail at the bidding of her brother Emilio Fortuna. She does, still, seek John'south help; she asks him to escort her sis over the edge into the Us, asks for his help in freeing Reyes from El Presidio, and persuades him to bring together a guerrilla attack on the Army to avenge her father'southward expiry. Afterwards, she organizes an assault on Sepulcro in society to kill Helm de Santa.

During "An Appointed Time", subsequently John witnesses the war crimes being carried out in Escalera by the Mexican Regular army, he comes across Reyes, who is about to be executed past Raul Zubieta and two of his men. As John tries to negotiate Reyes' release, Luisa appears and blindly charges at Zubieta, wielding a knife. Zubieta and his men then shoot Luisa through the chest three times, killing her. Enraged, John shoots Zubieta's ii soldiers before being challenged to a duel by him. John kills Zubieta, avenging Luisa'south expiry, before cutting Reyes gratuitous and continuing with the boxing. Afterwards, he confronts Reyes almost Luisa's martyrdom; for the concluding time Reyes fails to recount who she was, even though she lived and died for him.

Trivia

  • Her characteristics draw parallels with the main character in the short story written by Katherine Anne Porter chosen "Flowering Judas", where a young woman named Laura falls in dear with a shallow, exhibitionistic revolutionary.
  • In singleplayer, Luisa is seen wearing a dress throughout the game, though she is given chaps in multiplayer, a similar change applied to Abigail Marston.
  • Even if John mentions to many people he has a family, he only reveals one of their names to Luisa: she asks during "Male parent Abraham" for his son's proper noun and he tells her.
  • Her last name means "luck", which is ironic due to her death after on in the story. On the other mitt, this can exist considered a improve fate than being abused and heartbroken past Abraham Reyes, who she badly loved, and who couldn't even call back her name.
  • In a pre-release version of the game Luisa had a more than defeated, unhygienic face. Her teeth were a dark yellow and her hair was unkept.
  • She is one of the three major characters who practice not ride horses at all. The others are Agustin Allende, and West Dickens.
  • A man buried at Sepulcro cemetery, Alejandro Fortuna, may be related to Luisa. According to his gravestone, "he died for his country".
  • In Undead Nightmare, a regular undead uses Luisa's character model. Getting close enough to her and using Dead Eye Targeting reveals the golden cross necklace that Luisa wears throughout the game. This undead is get-go encountered in Escalera.
